Crossroads of Learning

Since its launch in 2007 the on-line "Tutoring Foundations" training programs have impacted the professional lives of thousands of tutors and tutoring administrators around the country. This curriculum meets the highest standards of, and was developed with, the National Tutoring Association and Fielding Graduate Institute. Every on-line course participant is paired with an NTA Master Tutor to supervise their progress. You can also use this research-based, practitioner focused curriculum in your own classroom via the Train-the-Trainer/Workbook program. Here is a small sampling of the comments received week after week:

"We strongly recommend the Train-the-Trainer workbooks. The whole program is complete, well organized and follows through with what's promised. Very good, accessible and relevant to today's tutoring issues and concerns.

"I feel this course really helped me understand my reasons why I chose the educational field. I learned a lot about myself as an instructor/tutor. My students I believe will benefit a great deal."

"I did not expect to gain much value, but this course has allowed me to become a much better tutor and teacher"

"The information and skills I've acquired from taking this course has been of tremendous benefit to me. I have and will continue to recommend this course to anyone who desires to instruct, mentor, or train others. For me, it has enabled me to present myself more confidently to my students and peers."

"I feel I have enhanced my professional development and listening skills substantially."

"I used the Socratic method in my Constitution Day program to get the students to use creative thinking by letting their minds wander. I used open-ended questions to get the students to understand how and why the Constitution came into being. It was very effective, both faculty staff and students really enjoyed it."

Come see a demo of the on-line courses and examine the entire workbook series used in the Train-the-Trainer program. In addition, get a sneak preview of the new Academic Coaching capstone which will be released this Spring. We will also explain the NTA Certification Affiliate program which enables you to provide the high quality training and to pre-process certifications for tutors and staff. This program accelerates and streamlines the certification process while providing up to 75% savings in certification costs.

If you are looking for an an easy, effective and economical way to train tutors and staff or wish to increase the number of NTA certified tutors in your program, this session will be of interest.
