CROSSROADS OF LEARNING LAUNCHES ONLINE TUTOR TRAINING PROGRAM IN CONJUNCTION WITH NATIONAL TUTORING ASSOCIATION

Crossroads of Learning, (www.crossroadsoflearning.com,) presents “Tutoring Foundations,” an online tutor training program, developed with and approved by the National Tutoring Association (NTA) and Fielding Graduate University.  This course is featured on the Crossroads community of interest Internet site for tutors, teachers, coaches and administrators.  The site offers professional training and on-going development to tutors, teachers, administrators and coaches.  The same resources are also of great value to home schooling parents and student peer tutors.

The Crossroads of Learning website features training resources, tools of the trade and discussions with experts in the field.  The premiere offering is a self-paced online training course, called Tutoring Foundations.  The course curriculum has been developed in association with Dr. Sandi Ayaz, executive director of the NTA, and her team of recognized leader in the field of tutor training.

Dr. Ayaz stated, "NTA has certified thousands of tutors since 1996. We are very excited about increasing this number through the depth and quality of training contained in the Tutoring Foundations program."

Successful completion of the Tutoring Foundations course also qualifies students to register for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) provided by Fielding Graduate University, and apply for professional Tutor Certification by the NTA.  Both these institutions are prestigious and respected leaders in the field of education and professional development.

Tutoring Foundations offers the convenience of online training and assigns a highly qualified instructor to each course participant for interactive feedback and professional development. The course is self-paced to accommodate the flexible schedules so common in the teaching, tutoring and coaching professions, as well as the unique pace of parents and peer tutors.

Crossroads affiliate, Fielding Graduate University, is committed to leadership and excellence in education. Crossroads team member, Professor Kathy Tiner, PhD, has embraced the partnership between Crossroads of Learning and the Fielding School of Educational Leadership and Change.  “By supporting the professional development of tutors,” said Dr. Tiner, “we will be making a real difference in the education of our children across the country.”
