Journal Mission

Crossroads of Learning is dedicated to the community of interest surrounding the art and science of one-to-one education and coaching. Our latest offering is the Crossroads of Learning Journal, an interactive online publication expressly for tutors, coaches, corporate trainers, school administrators, learning centers, SES providers, parents and others who have a stake in improving education in the U.S.

Our editorial staff is constantly searching the internet, as well as academic journals, trade events and government meetings, acting as your "information agent", surveying the field and bringing back useful information.  We share ideas and resources that we hope will be a contribution to the entire community, and promote best practices and professional growth in this currently underserved area.  From student assessment to study tools, from tutor training to brain research, from technology to peer tutoring, our range of subjects and the quality of academic sources will be, we hope, impressive and worth your time.

As subscribers and readers, we invite you to suggest story ideas, submit your own articles or share links to information, and comment on the articles themselves. This passionate and dedicated community now has a dedicated forum and we look forward to your participation.

Please take a look at the other resources by using the tabs above at any time.  Crossroads of Learning currently hosts a library of free tutoring/coaching resources as well as the “Tutoring Foundations” online training course created in association with the NTA and Fielding Graduate University. Another activity of special note is the “Tutoring Town Hall” webcast series, presented live and in our archives. Stay tuned for the Community portal set to launch in May ‘07 where members will be able to join discussions and live chats, post profiles and portfolios, co-ordinate meetings, and create interest groups.
